The exhibition has been designed so that you can experience all its elements independently during your visit. Nonetheless, we also run guided tours of the Karel Zeman Museum in the company of a trained expert in animation history and special effects. Guided tours are provided for both groups and individuals and are mainly in Czech or English. Tours in German, Spanish, French and Russian can be arranged depending on the availability of guides.
The guides have been specially chosen, and the guided tour set up by Boris Masník, who also acts as guest lecturer in the case of special educational events. We recommend this in particular for groups of film students, students of the theory and history of the cinematic and audiovisual arts and for groups with a deeper interest in the works of Karel Zeman, the history of animation and special effects in Czechoslovakia and in the development of traditional methods of animation to contemporary digital methods in general.
When the guided tour is complete, you can stay in the exhibition area and continue enjoying its interactive features or you can return to any of the information panels and screens that interest you. Tours can be combined with an electric boat cruise on the Devil’s Canal/Čertovka and Vltava River, with animation and special effects workshops or creative graphic art workshops.
